The world’s smallest and lightest personal PID monitor
Shawcity is delighted to announce the launch of the new Cub personal gas detection monitor, now with an 11.7 eV lamp. Cub 11.7 eV is the world’s smallest, lightest personal PID monitor for the accurate detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other gases that require a higher energy output such as acetylene, methanol and formaldehyde.
Worn attached to clothing in the breathing zone and with market leading sub-ppm sensitivity, Cub 11.7 eV gives an early warning of hazardous gases, including benzene, before they reach levels which are harmful.
Advanced PID technology
The 11.7 eV lamp is notoriously difficult to manufacture and, due to this highly sensitive nature, 11.7 eV devices in the past have been temperamental and required frequent lamp changes. Ultimately, they ended up with increased environmental exposure which affects the whole performance of the device.
ION Science has spent many years refining the manufacturing process for 11.7 eV detectors to eliminate some of the sensitivities and issues previously associated with 11.7 electrode eV detection. This improved technology can now be applied to personal devices that offer wearer protection against exposure for up to a month at a time.
High energy output, detect even more gases
The new Cub 11.7 eV offers a detection range between 0.5 ppm and 5,000 ppm, with the capability to detect many gases which are not currently feasible with standard 10.6eV solutions, including Methylene Chloride, Formaldehyde, Acrylonitrile, Chloroform, Tetrachloroethane, 1, 1, 1, 2- and Trichloroethane, 1, 1, 2- .
A Cub PC software update V0.0.0.58 is also available, which enables 11.7 eV Cub users to select gases specific to 11.7 eV.
