Quantitative fit testing comprises two distinct technologies: Controlled Negative Pressure (CNP) and Ambient Particle Counting (APC). Both provide a numerical measure known as a fit factor, assessing how well a respirator seals to the face, unlike qualitative fit testing (typically a bitter or sweet ‘taste test’) which relies on subjective sensory responses to aerosol agents.

The new AeroFit face fit test system from OHD has been developed by world-leading industry experts to redesign APC fit testing from the ground up and bring the technology into the 21st century. AeroFit does not require a tablet or Bluetooth to be able to perform fit tests. Other improvements include quicker set-up, automated daily verification, searchable respirator lists, improved workflows and quieter operation. The unit can test all respirator types in a controlled environment with the particle counting method.
