Shawcity is proud to announce its partnership with The Blue Lamp Trust, a non-profit organisation committed to enhancing the safety and security of vulnerable individuals, including the elderly and victims of domestic abuse.
Since 1998, the charity has grown from its origin as a single technician to a dedicated team of six safety specialists serving communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Their mission includes providing free home security assessments and installing essential safety equipment, such as door and window locks, smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide detectors.
During a recent routine visit to an elderly couple’s home, a carbon monoxide leak was detected and the residents had already begun to experience symptoms. The quick response of The Blue Lamp Trust helped to prevent a more serious outcome. This incident highlighted the importance of equipping all of the trust’s service technicians with personal carbon monoxide detectors for their own safety and to protect residents.
Now an official proud bronze sponsor of The Blue Lamp Trust, Shawcity donated additional Ion Science ARA carbon monoxide gas detectors to their fleet and bump-tested all existing units to ensure optimal performance. These detectors are an essential safety tool, providing reliable, compact, and easy-to-use protection.
Gabriela Goncalves, Product Specialist Manager at Shawcity, visited The Blue Lamp Trust to bump-test the devices. She emphasised the company’s ongoing commitment:
"We are proud to support The Blue Lamp Trust as they carry out their work supporting the local community and we look forward to a longstanding partnership helping to keep their team of volunteers and residents safe."
Emma Burt, Operations Manager at The Blue Lamp Trust, echoed the sentiment:
"Ensuring our technicians are protected while they perform their vital work is of utmost importance. Their safety, and the safety of the individuals they assist, is always our top priority."
